In the military it was speculated that all the long hairs back in the '70's would get together in one spot and the weight of all that excess hair would throw the earth out of balance causing it to spin into the sun. Sounds about as likely as your theory.

I believe that they have to regulate how many fast food shops they put in certain areas, they can't be too close together, so that the weight is evenly distributed as people become obese. Can't be too careful, you know.
