Ever hear of the Internet? I know it's not widely used, but it is a wonderful modern invention. The inventions of 100 years ago seem more significant, because it was a huge leap from an agricultural/manufacturing society into a technological society, but don't doubt that world changing inventions will continue to happen as the years go by.
