All users have the exact same premissions. The printer is shared for everybody and security setting allows everyone to print on it. For some users when they print, the print job appears on the printer queue and disppears without any error message, but nothing is printed on the printer. I am using Windows server 2003. Please help.

All computers run Windows XP SP2, and the printer is Color HP 2600. If on one machine 2 different users log on, one can print and one cannot. In other words some users can't print no matter to which machine they log on.

I've had similar problems actually and it turned out to be a logon problem.

Check that your users actually use a network ID set in their accounts. I know this sounds stupid, but windows explorer has to have your login aswell as windows itself in order to connect to the printer properly. Sounds dumb I know.

Get the troubled users to try connected to shared directories/files on the network. If they CAN connect, then you have a printer issue (try re-installing the driver, make sure spooler is running). If they cannot, they you need to setup the network login - IE A username/password for the server2003 machine (a limited user account - not your admin account).

I am kinda clutching at straws here but it does indeed sound very similar to the problem I had recently (which had me hitting my PC and printer).

Good luck

First you must check the client's OSes, Win 9x tends to have more problem than win 2k or above. Please tell me your Client OS that has the problem and the type of your printer.

============ Additional answer:
If that's the case, I think it comes to user account privileges, it came to my problem once, but then I recreated the user account and it solved the problem.
