Alpha Centauri is the closest star system beyond our own solar system 4.39 light years away. It is composed of 3 small stars: two of which, A. Centauri A, and A. Centauri B are similar to Earth. Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf star in that system is the closest @ ~ 4.26 light years.

There are (probably) no planets in that system. It is highly unlikely that there is any intelligent life close to Earth (ie < 100 light years) but no one really knows. Some say there is no intelligent life on Earth.

Proxima centauri is our closest star, after the Sun. It is part of the Alpha centauri trinary star system. It cannot have planets around it, because they could not form a stable orbit with two other stars nearby.
As for life on nearby planets, I don't think so. There is as much chance of life existing on other planets as there is of it existing elsewhere in our solar system. Very, very small.

nearest member of the Alpha Centauri triple star system. Light takes only 4.22 years to reach us from Proxima Centauri.

more infor below!

now in my opinion I have a conflict of resolution
1.scientifically I do belive there exists alien life out there. reason being that all matter was made through the same procces. even if there is no inteligence out there i do belive that there are living organisims out there. Or there is a very superior intelegence way far beyond ours.
2. Bibilically I do not believe that there is any existance of life except ours.

see a conflict of reasoning sorry cant get a solid answer if one gets it im me with scientific proof.

Alpha Centauri is the next closest star to earth.

The other question is just silly and has nothing to do with the first one.
