Anything can happen with intelligence and sophistication along for the ride. Over forty can usually make any type of friend outside of the marriage. Remember "When Harry Met Sally" though....and, think about it. What does the little woman inside of you say? good luck.

Providing that both know that nothing but friendship can come out of this then I don't see why not. However as the male friend finds her stimulating, will he realize that there are boundaries that he just can't cross, to be on the safe side providing that if they always go out together in a group situation and she makes sure that her husband knows about the guy, I don't see a problem. Just as long as the both remember that she is married, as that is the key thing here

Platonic relationships are only any good if both people involved know that they're not getting anything other than friendship from each other & being attracted to each other is a bad start.

It can work, but it seems like the guy is attracted to the woman in a more romantic way than just mere friendship.

That depends on your definition of friends. If it's someone you eat lunch with in the break room at work, then sure. If you mean someone you eat lunch with privately, then no. I've only known a couple marriage counselors, but both of them said the majority of affairs started out as "just friends."

The only time this can happen is if they are not attracted to each other in any aspect (physically or mentally). But from what you're describing, this friendhip has the potential to develop into something else and I don't care if anyone else is saying it can work because if you're even slightly attracted to each other, anything can happen.

That's a hard question, hormones can be really hard to control. When they start going strong who knows what can happen. If the guy was gay then forsure, they'll be best of friends, but if he's a breeder and she is to, they might just start to find themselves attractive and do the deed ...

Yes, w/o malice. Friends are great to be platonic. But it depends on how they get too close w/ each other. She had a good marriage then she's fine having a platonic friend w/ a man.

It can work as long as there are boundaries set as far as what type of affection is shown (if any). I myself have two male friends that I have been friends with for 30 years and it has never been physical. If she just wants to be friends then that point needs to be made clear and it can work. Just because you are married does not mean that you cannot have friends especially ones of the opposite sex.

Yes, as long as they are only friends..they can also love each other like a brother would love a sister and vice versa..
I am a married woman who has a handfull of male friends that would do anything for me and we enjoy hanging out and doing what friends do..we also treat each other like we are siblings and we have that kind of love for one another..
We would never cross that boundary into lusting after ech other and jeopardizing our marriages and other relationships..
These guys are also friends with my spouse and my child loves thenm and views them just like she does her uncles by blood...

Thses are true friendships that have lasted over many years, and we have created a "family" out of them..

If you feel the same way as I do and am comfortable with forming your own "family"..then by all means it is acceptable and will be a lasting friendship that you will enjoy..
