Some say that girls and boys can't be friends? I disagree with this theory but getting close to girls is choosing to be difficult because feelings can change when you get close enough. SOooo, share with me stories of a relationship you had that was closer than a brother or sister but had no romantic feelings for. Or is that not possible?

That's possible.

I think there's something in your mind that repels you from getting super intimate. I have many male friends. They treat me wonderfully but I can't get any closer because I know we're not compatible. Maybe it's you? I used to wonder that too. Like, how can a girl talk to a guy that much and NOT like him?

Well...for me personally, I already have a boyfriend. Even if I was single, I wouldn't go for any of my male friends. I think I know them too well to fall for them! :P In the past, I refused to become a girlfriend of a close buddy of mine mostly because I was afraid that if we broke up, our friendship would be ruined.

I've always been able to get along with guys better than I have girls. I think that its totally possible, but I know that there were times when my best guy friends looked like a really good potential lover. But you just have to keep things in perspective; they were all my guy FRIENDS for a reason, it wasn't that I found them unattractive or worthless, just that deep down I knew that I cared for them in a much different way. I think that its totally possible and that guy/girl relationships can be some of the best ever. As long as both friends don't try to do anything impulsive - its hard to go back to being "just" friends when you've pushed the envelope a little further.

Most of my closest friends are male. My best friend in college was a guy. We never dated and we never had romantic feelings for each other. We spent time like any normal best friends, we hung out, went shopping, ate out, etc. It was never weird, although people at the university thought we were a couple, we would just laugh at them because we knew there was nothing going on.

Guys and girls can have a platonic relationship. It's not impossible. I'm a girl, and I have plenty of male friends as well as female friends. I tend to hang out with the guys more, just because we have the same breaks. I'm pretty sure not ALL of the guys there want to sleep with me. I'm not attracted to them in a romantic way, and vice versa.
