i recently installed a netgear wireless router. the problem is that my desktop is having trouble receiving an internet connection. it says theres a full signal but i cant get on the internet at all. my laptop gets on the network without any problems. i dont know if my desktop's wireless card is the wrong frequency but i think it should be on g, and both my router and my card is netgear. any suggestions?

run your antivrus and antispyware in safe mode or switch to linksys as you may have a spyware or virus stopping it http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1428

i think dear friend friend their is some problem with the installation. because according to i think when you install the card and the router you dint have to fix the frequency the only this is that when u install the card and the LAN card that time you have to see what is router ip and make some changes in the router to connect it to you desktop. just see that you change the ip and also see the dns of the ISP you are going to use.

some solid recommendations above. additionally, i like first of all some basic issues besides. have you ever rebooted all instruments? only intend to confirm. i've got considered the place some instantaneous routers desire this periodically. How are you "connecting to the community" in case you won't be able to connect with the instantaneous gadget? you should purchase new instantaneous card for pc - if that fixes it than you comprehend the place your issue grew to become into, if it does not, return it (make certain you verify the shops "re-stocking" value agreements, return coverage, and so on.). Or, attempt to borrow from a buddy or different pc in case you have yet another card. As mentioned above, attempt to narrow down what isn't working.

also, mostly for diagnostic reasons, try switching ports on the router (physically). maybe avoid using the stand alone uplink.
