I am an american studying martial arts in china for a year and i brought my sony vaio laptop model PCG-591L that i bought 3 years ago. it is my only connection with people back home. Now my AC adaptor doesnt want to charge my computer anymore therefore i cant use it for more than 15 minutes. when i check the battery signal it says charging not charging back and forth. i dont have money to ship it back home and i still got a few months before i go back home. i dont think its my adaptor cause the light turns on. why doesnt my computer charge? please people what should i do? is it the battery? what is it? please people i need help to solve this problem my computer is my only communication with people back home. HELP!

you said your laptop is 3 years old. if the battery is of the same age you're a lucky person. a battery seldom last that long when used daily (that's my personal experience).
as already mentioned before, the battery is gone and you have to replace it.

Why can't you just run it off of A/C power and not worry about the battery charging, until you get back home?

You might want to get it checked at a Sony Service Station in your area... they only can tell the exact problem.

As an alternate suggestion....

Look for an Internet Cafe... to be in touch with your people back home.

Battery life in laptops are seldom over two years. Your lucky that it's last that long.

It seems like you have to replace your battery.

you can remove the battery entirely, then just run on a/c

maybe your ac adapter has a loose connection?
