Forbes keep tabs on the most livable cities by certain criterias year after year. Judge for yourself.
P.S. cheapest and best don't normally go together.

The 4 least expensive places to live in the USA; married, single or dead (that's a joke)
Least or bottom: McAlester,OK
then in descending order
- McAllen,TX
- Salina, KS
- Conway, AR
- Paris,TX
No doubt there are other lists with different places but I check 6 othe site and base on the numeric scoring system McAlester, OK was the lowest at a value of 77.8 points.
Some of the most expensive places ran up to around 181 points.
