The New Testament is in Greek.
The earliest traditions, however, say that Matthew originally wrote his gospel in Hebrew or Aramaic. Scholars no longer believe the Fathers of the Church on this, but, as Gibbon says, 'it seems dangerous to distrust their united testimony.'

The Christian New Testament was written in Koiné Greek to start with because it was the common international language of the time for that part of the world. The Jewish Scriptures (called the Old Testament by Christians) were written in different historical periods' Hebrew. Aramaic was the language most likely spoken by Jesus, his family, and his disciples.
