The cervix is similar in appearance and structure of the penis.
The cervix hangs down into the vagina.
The opening of the cervix is called the Os.
Conveniently, our middle finger is
the same length as our vagina.
When attempting to check your cervix:
first wash your hands, squat with buttocks on your ankles
gently insert middle finger into the vagina up towards your belly button.
You should be able to reach your cervix to feel if it's open or closed - soft (like your cheek), hard (like your nose)
But what is your question about? Are u pregnant? Then which week is it?
Please be clear.

Some answers are obviously ridiculous. A closed cervix is generally a good thing in terms of pregnancy. As the above commentor mentioned, it means you're not at all dilated (again a good thing!)

The bleeding could be from irritation of the cervix or any other number of things. You should keep an eye on any and all bleeding. It could very well be nothing and could be something.

Ask your doctor. He/she will know better than people on the internet.

..You should ask your Dr. when you were there. Why would you walk out the door with a diagnosis and not know what it meant? A closed cervix sounds critical. Pay more attention and be more assertive.

This means you are not dialated. The baby is still securely where it needs to be.
