There are a great many things that we know to be true and we know the steps how to achieve them. Yet, many of us do not.
For example, we know that eating more fruits and vegetables will give you longer life. Yet many of us do not.
We know that 8-10 glasses of water each day will assist in a great many body functions. Yet, many of us hardly drink ANY water.

Therefore, I assume it is Will Power which will allow us to follow the directions to a "T" and avoid harmful things. How do YOU increase YOUR Will Power?

Following things to a T wont work. You have to let yourself some leeway for messing up, otherwise the first time you actually do mess up you wont want to continue what you are doing because it isn't perfect.
Dont shoot for perfection. Aim for progress. Do a little bit at a time. Instead of drinking 8-10 glasses of water, aim for drinking some during the day.
The way I increase my will power to do something: Visualizing the end result and not wanting to feel like crapola anymore!!

The areas of my life in discipline where I struggle the most have to do with a real understanding of the benefits of that discipline. For example, I smoked for over ten years. It was a real struggle to quit when I had not thought through the costs, especially financially. When I came to a point where I was without money and couldn't scrape together enough change to buy one pack, I sat down in frustration and thought out what they were costing me and how much a fool I must appear to be for acting so desperate for tobacco, suddenly quitting was far easier. On the other hand, the importance of saving money was something I learned early on. So I held my money while other kids were spending theirs on candy, sodas, and any urge that entered their little hearts. As I grew up with new responsibilities, the costs of things like rent and insurance kept me broke. The more I made, the more it seemed like I had greater responsibilities to cover financially. Now the kids that were spending their money are much better off because they continued to buy, but their tastes moved from candy and whatever to cars, homes and other forms of real property that either retain their value or gained in value.

My point is; if you can envision the end result of your desired behavior, its much easier to stick with the behavior you desire. Our society does not place a great deal of value on what's 50 years or even, in most cases, what's one year away simply because we don't sit down and envision what we want and count the cost of acquiring it.

I hear ya! its very tough! But to make matters worse alot of the fruits and vegetables are nothing like they used to be! In fact, the nutritional value of all food other than Organics has decreased a mind boggling 20% in nutrients! So if a family can afford it, The Organic diet is the best!!!!! But Organics cost more, and thats just very sad! I dunno if I believe in the conspiricy theory or not, but I can't help but wonder if someone at the federal level doesn't want us to eat healthy! After, Unhealthy people help contribute to a multi billion dollar drug industry!!! Alot of food today is chemically altered or genitically enginered. So Organic fruits Vegetables, and Dairy products are the healthiest!

Be stubborn don't give in. Also the 8-10 glasses of water is a lot of b.s. It puts a lot of stress on the kidneys.

will power feeds on itself. The more determined you make your mind to be, the more your will power will increase.
