Rainbows are circular. The whole half circle thing is a conspiracy by the leprechauns. While your out looking for gold, they are swiping your left sock! And you thought the drier was eating them!

Water droplets, may or may not, sufficient or less.

The fact is, we cannot follow the arc of a rainbow down below the horizon, because we cannot see those droplets in the air below the horizon. But the higher we are above the ground, the more of the rainbow circle we would see. That is why, from an airplane in flight, a rainbow will appear as a complete circle with the shadow of the aitplane in the center.
I think you will get answer from these information.

The end of the rainbow. It's not the destination but the journey.

Pinacoladasundae's answer was better than mine. I only get as far as a rainbow being a circle intersected by the earth. (They are pretty seen from an airplane window.)

Nothing I'm afraid, due to the fact it's just an optical illusion, It's just light refracting though raindrops, no mather how far you walk towards the rainbow it remains the same distant away from you.

the most apparent answer is "a pot of gold"

but in reality i think the term "pot of gold" is really used to describe your hearts desire. perhaps like if i told you that you went on the most thrilling adventure of your life and at the end you found your treasure.

Perhaps some see it as the "rainbow" is their life, and the "pot of gold" is their reward when they leave this earth.

just some theorys.

First the beginning is the journey and sometimes you lose your way maybe cause the lepruchan distracts your illusion, but keep on going and follow because at the end is all your dreams come true.
