There have been 20 official Bond movies to date. Casino Royale will be #21. This is excluding the unofficial Never Say Never with Sean Connery which was released in 1983. This was a remake of Thunderball and did not feature the famous Bond opening sequence with the sniper scope which Bond shoots. Also excluded is the unofficial Casino Royale, which was a spoof of the Bond francise and was quite amusing. Both of these were allowed to be made because of contractual loopholes.
There was a T.V. miniseries starring an actor whose name I forget, in which Bond was an American CIA agent but whether you count this as a movie or not is a matter of interpretation.
