depends on what kind of history you want to remove, if you just want to remove cookie, or internet webpage that you been to, open your internet explor or whatever internet browsing you're using and click on tools, calick on option, go to your privacy, it should have lots options for your to pick from. If you want to remove the document you open before from your "Recent Document list," right click on the Start button usually located at the bottom left and select properties, and go to start menu and click on customize, it should show up a little box, and there you can clear the document you have open before. If you have documents or files in your Recycle Bin, right click on the icon and select 'empty recycle bin' it should remove, advance you can even shread the history. If history are senestive materials, you can also use sofeware that sell in the store for under 30 dollars, to help your computer security and sensetive documents from others. If you want to re-start a new computer, you can also re-install windows again, it will ask you to earse EVERYTHING, all your history will be white-out.
I hope it helps

go to internet options under the tools menu
then select the "delete cookies" button
also select the "delete files" button
just to be sure you have deleted everything go to the folder local settings under your user profile folder
then empty all folders except the "aplication data folder"
you will notice that one file will not be deleted
"that is because it is the file that is recording the current history (currently being used by the system) so dont worry about it"
then finaly exit
