i know it was a wagon train that was headed out west and they dressed up as Indians and massacred the whole party

I think the incident you are referring to has been dubbed the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I am not sure the name of the wagon train though. It is important however, to note that the Leadership of the Mormon Church was opposed to the attacks. It was members who carried it out to get vengance for the way they were trerated in Missouri and Illinios. I believe that the member involved in the attack were excomunicated from the mormon church.

I'm just guessing the had a few names Baker train and the Perkins train, but soon they became the Fancher train, this is the link about it
