Aside from his obvious shortcomings during actual games, did the Argos get enough publicity etc. from bringing in Williams to justify what they paid?

The Argos got their money's worth from Ricky, but there were other issues, like the pedestrian play league wide that hampered all the teams this year.
Ricky, when I saw him play, was strong. When I saw him interviewed, he was good for a chuckle...though he was usually right with what he was saying from a philosophical point of view.
The league, however, hurt the Argos when it shut down the Gades as it lost some credibility again. A player like Ricky can only help so much when your hands get tied by things like reputation of the entire league.

On-field you can't really judge seeing as he did get injured and was out for a few games, plus it is a change for any American coming up here and playing the Canadian game...
Off-field however, I believe it was somewhat of a disaster. Ricky went out into the public and got a warm welcome from people and they seemed to like him, but that didn't turn into anything special with the attendance of the Argo games though.
I mean for a East-Semi final they only have 26,000 people?
Either way though, I don't think he was a waste of money. It was a new experience in his life and the CFL's. As for being justified of what they paid him? I don't believe ANY athlete is worth what they make.

i'm a ricky williams fans and i don't make biased statements
who are we to say they're overpaid?
they go after what the market offers, just like other professions
if you don't like what you make, quit whining and go somewhere else..

No they didn't but they did get what they deserved. They had no business signing a player who was suspended by another leaque.

no.overrated for the cfl game,porcelain player have fun in miami.
check to see how he does next year.

LOOK AT HIS STATS COMPARED TO OTHER RUNNING BACKS IN THE LEAGUE.....NO THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR MONEY'S WORTH, THE GUY IS WAY OVERRATED
