Most court clerks prefer money orders but will accept cash though I have not heard of any taking debit/credit cards, or personal checks but that could change depending on what county you are in and what state.

Offer to pay the fine in cash, all pennies. I did that once and the cashier refused to take them. I ended up having to go back to court for failure to pay the fine. Once I explained to the Judge that the clerk refused my cash payment he dismissed the case and I didn't have to pay anything.

In my county I had to send them a check but, it was more than 2 years ago but, I do not know about debit card or ATM and they are so popular to use in my State than credit card. I think it is great because, you spend of what you have.
