We liked Pampers Swaddlers. The numbers depend on whether your baby is breast or formula fed. Breastfed babies poop ALOT!! I would count on 8-12 per day maybe more!!! Good luck to you.

Diaper brands vary depending on the baby. My oldest had to have huggies my next had to have luvs the next 2 were ok with anything ( the older 2 got irritated by other brands) I personally like pampers swadlers best. Dr's recomend that newborn babies have thier diaper changed ever 2 hours wet or dry. This is to prevent irritation and get the skin some air. Babies should wet/dirty at least 8-10 diapers a day.

I used the swaddlers for the first couple of days, I loved those. Now I normally use Huggies. We went through about 10 diapers a day. I changed my baby after each feeding.
With the diapers: YOu just really have to find what you like. You really need to try different kinds. Thats what I did, because what works for everyone else may not work for you.

Ive had two boys and for disposible I like Huggies and Parents Choice(Walmart brand)
I also use prefolds w/diaper covers and pocket diapers.
I went through the newborn/size one diapers in a week.
As for prefolds, doing laundry every 3rd day you would probably want to have around 30 prefolds and you can reuse diaper covers until they get something on them or you want to switch.

I liked the Pampers Swaddlers and the Huggies Supreme. I change the diaper everytime right before my baby drinks her milk... so if she drinks every 3 hours in a 24 hr period... about eight times.

My personal prefrence- Pampers NB...My FOUR day old daughter, Seems to pee through the Huggies NB diapers...I've not had any leaking with the Pampers though! :-)
And she goes through about 12 diapers a day!!!!
When my 18 month old was smaller, I as well used the Pampers NB!
My 8 year old however, we used Huggies! *shrug*

We used cloth exclusively and went through 10-15 diapers a day.

I like Pamper Swaddlers Newborn size, they have the great cut out for the umb. cord. My daugher went through about 18 per day, while my son went through about 14.

We used Costco diapers, they were just as good as Pampers (who makes the costco brand) and half the price.
I used huggies with my first 5 kids and loved them, but then found pampers were better actually.

My baby is 3 weeks old and we found the Pampers to actually be worse quality. We prefer Huggies Supreme with the comfort weave. She likes them, too!
