I am a 27 yo. male from india; and i care for my parents more then anybody else. The issues in my life started a year and a half ago, when i left my 5 year long relation with my ex-girlfriend to marry a complete stranger whome my parents had choosen for me. I did that just to make my parents happy and to make their wish a reality, i did that to keep my family under one roof. However, now after 1.5 years my wife is not feeling comfortable staying with my parents and in the meanwhile we've now got a kid too.

I now find that the sole purpose of marrying my present wife is no more valid. the lady whome i married for my parents, herself is not willing to keep the house together. I wonder, if i should still continue with this marriage or should i rollback my mistake in life and leave her to marry my love of life (my ex-girlfriend)?

Your advice/help would be much appreciated...

Frankly when you did marry your wife, you did not tell her that the sole purpose of your marriage to her was so that she should run your house, work day and night in it and bear with your parents. In arranged marriages where the girl moves in with her in-laws, the in-laws usually abuse her like a servant and the mother-in-law becomes a monster-in-law. You should consider why your wife wants to move away, maybe your parents are keeping her miserable and you're always taking their sides. In my culture if the wife doesn't want to live with her in-laws or work for them...its the duty of the husband to provide her with separate accomodation. Don't get divorced because of this and go back to your ex (whom your parents won't like and maybe she doesn't want you back either) because you have a child too but your wife wanting to live separately is her right to expect from you if you can afford it. I mean is your wife's sole purpose in this life to be your parents' servant? They should have had a daughter to fulfill that need and they are not your wife's parents...why should she take care of them? Its time that you treated your wife with the dignity, love and respect that she deserves and its time that you lived like a mature person. Move out and live nearby so you can keep an eye on your parents but don't make your wife their slave...that's not why she was given a life on this planet. If you feel that being their slave is her sole purpose in life, then you should be the slave of her parents.

I don't know anything about the culture in India, but here in America we usually follow our hearts when it comes to love and marriage. I would say discuss this situation with your parents and wife and find out they feel. Your wife is probably as miserable in this arranged marriage as you are. I wouldn't bring up the girlfriend, just the unhappiness. Also, do you know for sure that your ex-girlfriend is still available and if she is, would she be willing to see you again? You should check that out before talking to your family just in case she's not.

You can only keep one person happy at a time. Satisfying everybody simultaneously is highly impossible dear. Either you satisfy your parents by staying with your wife throughout your life or satisfy yoursely by divorcing her and marrying the other. Being in India think of your kid's life also.

Sorry to tell you that, but if she (the love of your life) is really worthy person, she will not take you back because you don't deserve her!
Should you divorce your wife - Yes, because you don't love her and she doesn't love you. Give her and yourself too a second chance to be happy and to be in love. Everybody deserves second change no matter what mistakes they made before.
Good Luck!

i don't think anyone can answer this for you. You married her to please your parents so I think you should ask your parents what they think.. The love of your life would probably be willing to care for your parents more.
