razor blades embedded in the trunk of the tree and in the lower branches!

Cats are funny. I don't have an answer but, let me know. When my cats were kittens, I came home to the X-mas tree on the floor and ornaments broken everywhere. I went out and bought all plastic ornaments. The tree hit the floor 2 more times that week. Then, I just took it down. They love a real tree. It's like being outside!

Goooooood luck!! I've thought of trying a tree again now that I have 2 new cats. But my last two....I tried a few times but was a battle I never could win.
Besides climbing it and knocking it over, they would strip it clean of all items and then organize them all over the house in seperate rooms. I got sick of putting my tree back together every night so I just gave up.
Gone w/o a tree for the past 11 yrs.

I put my tree up, but leave it undecorated for about a week. They'll get bored with an undecorated tree. Put plastic ornaments around the bottom of the tree, just in case. I usually don't have any problems and I have 3 cats.

Spray them with water every time they try climbing the tree. Eventually they will learn to quit climbing it.

cats will be cats, if you love them, try to make the best of it, just tell yourself, it won't make any difference in 20 yrs anyway ! Have a tree without ornaments, and let them have fun.

Get rid of the cats!!!! Try some catnip rubbed onto the trunk where they first begin their climb.
