Folks, I have been reading a lot of forums and it seems a lot of people are struggling in their pursuit of happiness. In recent times, economists have also started questioning the traditional models of growth and their ability to make people happy.
I think it’s important that we start building a community where the primary goal is to help each other attain happiness.
I searched on the net and came across www.myhappiness.com. It seemed to offer articles about happiness. There seemed to be a concept of a happy online community as well.
Is anyone here aware of something similar? What do other folks think of the idea?

Most happiness comes from a sense of elation. For example, a promotion, birth of a newborn, ceremonious ocassions. Also happiness comes from achievement and self-confidence. Most people that have less stressful things going on in life seem to be more happy and possess a higher level of esteem. Let's face it, the more comfortable your lifestyle with things going your way, the more happy you'll likely to be.

Children laughing
The smile on someone's face when you've chosen just the right gift, or helped them out.
Rain on a tin roof
A roaring fire on a cold winter evening
Rainbows
The smell and sound of the ocean
Sunrise
Storms
Fields of sunflowers...
String enough little pleasures together... and you can find something to be happy about every day :-)

I find happiness in helping others. I know, I know, this sounds cliche, but I really do. My experience is that you get back what you put into life. I created my own personal mantra, and when I live by that mantra each day, I find that I am happier. Part of my mantra is to do something for someone else each day. In order to qualify, it has to be something above and beyond what I would normally do anyway. Then I try to do something for myself. I think you have to remember to develop yourself as well. You are the only one responsible for what you become, so I think it becomes very important to do something for yourself. Additionally, I try to do something for my Father in Heaven each day. The benefit of this is that those things I believe will be pleasing to our Father in Heaven are usually things that will also benefit myself and others.

There are too many to answer on here. Many things make me happy. I think being happy is a choice. You can decide to be happy in what ever your situation is, or, you can wallow in self hate and pity. Bad things happen all the time. It's how you handle them that is important.

The only form of lasting happiness is ever-lasting happiness.
I find lasting happiness when I'm doing the following.
Doing good to others.
Worshiping God.
Following the path that I feel is right.
Accomplishing my responsibilities.

Happiness is contagious.
to see someone else happy (or especially to bring happiness to someone) brings the most immense feeling of happiness through my bones.
Faith is enduring.
to feel the love, protection, and light of my Father in Heaven, fills me with so much joy! its indescribable.
Hope is everlasting.
hope, it is what gets me through the day, and especially the night.
Love is the most powerful step in happiness.
love is the strongest emotion and the most irresistible of all. Love is what lights this world and what constantly brings a smile to my face.
.....................well, thats me anyways.

My family brings me happines. Hhowever, it is true that the more you love someone the more potential that person has to cause you pain and this has happened. But I would gladly experience that pain all over again because the joyous moments far outweigh the painful ones.

making people smile and laugh! my husband & children! love!
singing out loud! baby animals! we all have times in our lives, everyday, when things go wrong. and life seems dark, but there is always something that can at least brighten up your day, even if only for a moment, it's worth it to remember that somewhere inside you is a glimps of hope.
