Do you think dogs remember their dreams. Mine frantically chases something whilst she sleeps (all dogs do) but I wonder if they dream about people, and whether in their dreams they get scared or wake up hating the dream character as humans sometimes do. Its not all bones and food bowls in their life, could the dreams be a reason why dogs bite unexpectedly because that person was nasty in the dream. What do you think? Interesting remarks only please.

I don't know about dreams, but they hallucinate.
I'm a Vet Tech and help with surgeries. A Pitt Bull was neutered a little while ago at the clinic where I work, and I was watching him to make sure he woke up from the anesthesia safely. They are a little loopy at first. Awake, but still off balance and you can tell not "all there". Well, this Pitt started staring off into space, right above his head, and growling like he was gonna kill something, but nothing was there! He snapped and snarled and showed his teeth and everything. We felt so sorry for him and joked a little about his "bad trip".
He was fine about an hour later. Wagging his tail and sweet as could be. Poor baby definitely saw something that upset him! Maybe like those old cartoons where one of the cartoons is hit in the head they see the circle of birdies, but his "birdies" were offensive to him.
Cheers.

yeah that is an interesting point

im sure dogs, like many other animals, dream about things. If a dog fell alseep very hungry he would probably dream something about food, or other things linked directly from the outside world, unlike us humans that can dream more complex dreams that have to do with our thoughts and things that dogs are just not capable of doing.

you know? haha

but yeah very good point thats interesting to think about

i wonder if my hamster dreams...

canines are not self conscious. they could have flashbacks and studies, yet they are able to't conciously choose for to remember concepts. She won't understand something, it's going to easily be an journey she'll forget interior right here couple of moments.

I knew some people who rescued a dog that had been badly neglected. She had a horrible infected broken leg, and these people said they would pay for the amputation and take her home. She recovered and was happy in her new home (minus one leg). But the people told me that she had nightmares sometimes.
