Great Transcendental movies that really make you think:
What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Annabella Sciorra.
Pay It Forward with Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and Haley Joel Osment.
Finding Forrester with Sean Connery and Rob Brown.
Phenomenon with John Travolta, Kyra Sedgwick, Forest Whitaker and Robert Duvall
And one people often forget: K-PAX with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges
There are a bunch more that have wonderful, thoughtful plots, but these are my top five.

Internal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Although another great film that you could call a transcendental/romance film is Vanilla Sky. Amazing

Depends upon your definiton of a transcendental movie.
Along the lines of what you've mentioned- Emperor's Club, Finding Forrester and Good Will Hunting.
Metaphysical message movies - The Matrix, What the Bleep do we know, What Dreams may come
