It can be any genre, tell me what's better. (Obviously, if you hated MISTS OF AVALON then I don't need your input but if you feel you must share something then, go ahead.)

Also, thanks, already saw the DRAGONRIDER series (or Dragons of Perth) by Ann McCaffrey. Good stuff, too.

Well, a lot of other Marion Zimmer Bradley's books are good as well, such as "The Forest House," although reading it after "The Mists of Avalon" kind of takes away from it.

Sci-Fi
Orson Scott Card- "Ender's Game"
Douglas Adams- Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and links

Fantasy-Fic
Eoin Colfer- Artemis Fowl
Piers Anthony- Anything in the Xanth series (27 books hahah)
J.R.R. Tolkien- Any of the Lord of the Rings Books
C.S. Lewis- Chronicles of Narnia (easier books.)
Jonathan Stroud- Bartimaeus Trilogy
Tamora Pierce- Circle of Magic Series (4), Circle Opens (4), Trickster's series
Christopher Paolini- Eragon and sequels
J.K. Rowling- Harry potter and Sequels
Nancy Farmer- The House of the Scorpions and others

Hope you will like some of these. =) maybe try looking up smaller summaries on amazon before...

G'day Fyre and Rain,

Thank you for your question.

Marion Zimmer Bradley was a prolific writer. She wrote a number of series notably the Darkover series. If you liked Mists of Avalon, you would also like those.

She was also the editor of the Sword and Sorceress anthology series of up and coming writers especially female writers. You might want to check those out.

Regards

Try "The Once and Future King" by T.H. White. This is a beautiful, well crafted novel of Arthur told from Arthur's perspective, comma with a little input from Merlin.

It is a modern retelling of the Arthurian legend, with exquisite prose. It is quite enjoyable.

It was the basis for the Disney film, but it is much more than that cartoon could ever be. You should at least give it a try.
