Ok, there are various ways to do this - BUT unless you are pro-active it can take many months to be indexed.
Option 1 is to manuall submit your details to each search engine - this is not difficult but is very time consuming - although it does tend to get better results than the next option.
Option 2 is to submit to a site that then submits on your behalf to lots of search engines at once - these can be free.
Option 3 is to use a paid for service and have them submitted to many engines AND have them optimized for each one.
To do option 1, try going to a search engine - anyone you like - and then hunt for the link that says "Submit URL" or simlar. Clikc it and away you go. If you cannot find the link, then use google to find it - eg: "submit url" yahoo will almost certainly find the right page to submit your link.
For option 2 and 3, try searching for " auto submit search engine", again using google if you want meaningful results.
Here are some the above search found:-

No, just make sure that all the relevant words appear on your site. Perhaps wright a description with as many phrases regarding the business as you can. Those words will be picked up by anyone searching it on an engine.

Boy there is some bad advice here!
Never use submission software or a submission service unless you like spam emails and want to appear in every spammers database http://www.seo-blog.com/submission-software.php
You will find it very helpful to read a reliable tutorial on search engine optimization before you take random advice off the internet http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php

Try making a LENS for your business at http://www.squidoo.com.
Where we blog for indiviual and personal reasons, squidoo is for MOGS or Marketing BLOGS.
If you visit my yahoo 360, and look on the front page for the FEEDS RSS module that contains 3 live feeds, you can preview my squidoo by clicking on the SOURCE line from my first feed. You will be at a squidoo web address and get a preview of a squidoo.com LENS.

Build your inbound links.
Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

http://www.kahmer.com
http://www.joeant.com
The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank.
