December is travel season. Terminals will be crowded especially around December 21 to 27 for Christmas holiday. For Puerto Princesa you need to take a plane going there. For Puerto Galera, you have to travel by bus south of Manila going to Batangas Province. Then take a ferry going to Puerto Galera. As for Boracay, you take a plane to Caticlan in Aklan Province, then a bus going to the wharf and take an outrigger boat to the island. Road going to wharf is narrow and is creating problems for travelers.
BTW I just saw your question about Buddhist temples in Cagayan de Oro (newbie here). There is a buddhist community and temple in Cagayan de Oro, however they are reluctant in entertaining tourists. In fact I was sarcastically turned down when I offered to promote their community in my Cagayan de Oro tourist website.

Boracay is the most popular nice beach in the Philippines, but is not even close to being the nicest beach. The nicest beaches are remote, and you will need a boat to get there.
The Calamian Islands in northern Palawan are very nice, have beaches much nicer than Boracay, and the diving is really good around there. Seair and Asian Spirit fly a few times a day from Manila 45 mins or so, or the Subic Seaplane can take up to 3 passengers and takes a bit less than 2 hours, but can drop you off right where you are going.
Also yes, Makati is the business capital - but that is why you should NOT stay there if you are in Manila for one or two nights on vacation. The scene is pretty plastic and bars & restaurants are overpriced. There is much more to do in the Malate / Ermita area and prices are 1/3 to 1/2 of Makati.

yes, it's a good time to come here in Dec. the weather is cooler than summer..
Puerto Galera can be reached by bus and ferry boat - a 2 - 3 hrs drive from manila to batangas pier and ride a ferry boat to get to puerto galera, most of the tourists (back packers) go to white beach coz, its affordable. If you want a more classy resort, there's coco beach.
Puerto Princesa is in Palawan, you can get there by taking a flight from manila to puerto princesa via philippine airlines, it takes an hour to get there, or u may take a boat, super ferry.
Boracay is in Aklan, you can get there by taking an airplane via philippine airlines, cebu pacific, or air philippines. u can get there faster by arriving at caticlan, the planes are smaller and it takes 5 mins. from caticlan to the jetty port.
hope u enjoy ur trip around the islands ;-)

Boracay is the best beach in the Philippines. It is well known because you can compare it to beaches in Hawaii. If you've been to Hawaii, either Waikiki or maui, Boracay looks like those place exept you coudnt see Hula dancers. Night life is pretty much the same too. If you like going out at night, Boracay could be a place for you.
