The videos i am playing in real player, windows media player, and InterVideo WinDVD are not being displayed?

When i play a video in these players, only the sound is coming and the screen is blank?

codec, probably. are these video's gotten from a P2P file sharing
deal like kazaa or some poisonous death-trap? If windows media player doesn't play it there is probably an error in the file because they are exelent about their codecs,
