The only positive thing that can come out of all the media attention it's been getting is that people might understand, and it's not happening. It's a very serious mental disorder and I think it's being made a spectacle of, which is sad. It's not encouraging any progress in the girls being reported on, in the people who suffer from it, or in the people making such a hobby of watching how bad they get. It almost makes me sick. But what can you expect from popular media.

I think the true ones are sad, but I can see how awful they feel about themselves. The fake ones are sad that the people think that is the only way they will get attention.

i used to eat lettuce leaves and drink just enough water to get by on then actually there was a point that i swung the other way..but to be honest,,,and no one knows this about me..but i still feel like a gross pig when i eat... when i eat junk food or a regular meal i feel like I'm really cheating and guilty.... I'm a "normal" weight now..and I'm by myself all day..so even my boyfriend thinks I'm "normal".... yea..it's stupid i guess but it's where i channeled my lack of control and alot of other issues to. It doesn't help that i grew up w' very weight conscious people..including alot of my family.

It's a mental disorder. I think it's good that there is media attention on it to help educate people about it. Hopefully more people can reach out and get the help they need.

Some people would rather die than be fat...nothing wrong with not wanting to be fat...fat people tend to be losers and not care about themselves and well you get the point...

well, i think anorexia is a very serious disorder. it is not stupid at all. that is like saying diabetes is stupid. the person who is struggling with anorexia anymore than a diabetic wants diabetes and to take insulin. anorexia is a very debilitating disease that one must deal with forever. it is very sad.

Funny you ask. Some friends and I were just talking about it. I feel no pitty for them. They did it to themselves. If a smoker dies of emphysema do you feel bad (unless it's a loved one)? I don't think so.Same goes for an alcoholic or an overweight person. It's not a diesease, just a bad habbit. It's ignorant to think that you have to look like that for society to like who you are.

It's so sad and hard to understand why someone could do that to their self but I guess it a disease that is so hard to fight.
