You need to talk to your school. We have had several exchange students from different countries and their circumstances have been different. Two of the girls got credit for their studies here and two did not (and had to make up their classes upon their return.) Ask your school. Also, please research where in this country you would like to go (if you have a choice.) Depending on the kind of environment you live in now, some areas of the US may be vastly different than what you are used to. This can cause problems sometimes.

Example: We had a girl from Sao Paulo in Brazil who was 16 and used to going to clubs and beaches almost every night in Brazil. Well, she came to Wisconsin on exchange and was pretty miserable. She didn't adapt well to the much more "boring" (her word) lifestyle of a mid-western teenager. Also, she hated the cold (and in WI it's cold for 5 or 6 months of the year.)
