Many women have this problem. It is not unusually for girls your age (and even younger!!) to start birth control pills because of vicious period pain, even if you are not sexually active. I would see a doctor to discuss your options. Also, make sure you take ibuprofen, not acetaminophen to control the pain. Ibuprofen is an antiinflammatory.

Sounds pretty normal, here's some help:
Curl up, dont lay flat, heat is good-keep the feet warm as well.
Take ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Excederin), not tylenol. Ibuprofen, especially when you begin taking it right before the onset of your cramps, prevents your uterus from producing prostaglandins, which are a cause of the cramping.
Also, women who get regular excercise also experience less painful periods.

go to your doctor asap! i had the same problems at that age. i wish i would have known when i was 16 that i had endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts. i found out what the pain was from when i was 22. if i had known sooner i wouldn't have spent as much time in pain and the problems could have been treated earlier. i ended up having a hysterectomy when i was 31.

No I don't know whats going on but you might want to see your doctor. Usually when girls have really heavy periods they experience excruciating pain like that. That happene to my cousin and he doctor prescribed birth control pills to regulate her period. According to her it helped alot. But still see your doctor cause somthing else may b wrong and you want to catch it early.
