And I've said this before..although this is a mad, bad dangerous to know community here..we argue, we insult, but we TALK! By all indications there are a lot of very talented individuals out there..with your own specific knowledge and expertise..Is there any way we could all get together and change things, make a difference for the common good of all? Who's up for it? And what can we do? It'd be like the dirty dozen +the magnificent seven to the power of ten!

Hm! I like this idea, if we could all get together and make a real difference, you can count me in! I think we get more and more isolated as induiduals, hiding behind the computer screens, we communicate more, but don't see the possibilities.
In the 70's and 80's there used to be demonstrations against nuclear weapons, the enviroment and have we already forgotten the miner's strike of 1984/85? My point is that the possibilities are there, but no one seems to care anymore.
So, I'm glad you brought this subject up. We could all join a group to start with and then figure out what to do next. I also think there are alot of lonely people out there, so why not help the cause against lonliness as a joint project?

PS; I had completely forgotten about Shackleton!

I'm constantly amazed and astounded by the theories that people come up with on YA. I'm fairly certain that there are a great many people on here who would make excellent leaders and, given the right publicity, we COULD influence the powers that be to change. It only takes a theory to be supported by a few hundred people at first - to get the momentum going, then we begin lobbying our MP's to gain support - if they fail to listen we formulate a plan to start a new party - The Party of Social Renewal, or the Anti-Chav party, or the We Disagree party, and Bob's your uncle!

Come on, let's do it. Let's kick some political as s!!

A wonderful sentiment, but unfortunately it is a utopian concept. There will always be bad people around who will rebel against any good we try to preach. Unless we can find laws which may be upheld and implemented. How far could we go to acheive this. People have human rights and free speech, and their own free will. Its such a shame that not everyone can be like you!!!

Brilliant. But...

If we could all do it from our computers. We all want to change the world but if we are honest with ourselves with as little effort on our parts as possible.

There are already ways, like getting involved in local goverment, volenteering for charities etc... But who has time or energy?

If you plan something would love to get involved. Meanwhile I should think of ways to get start helping a little...

I AGREE,NEVER LET YOURSELF THINK THAT A LEADER HAD NO ONE OTHERS IN HIS DECISIONS OR ACTIONS TO OVERCOME HIS BATTLE AT HAND.BRAINSTORMING,WHEN READILY ACCEPTED,BY EVERYONE WELCOMING OTHERS IDEAS WITHOUT NEGITIVITY,HAS GOTTEN ALL LEADERS A GREAT DISTANCE IN OVERCOMING SITUATIONS.
YOUR QUESTION IS AN AWESOME IDEA......
THIS WOULD MAKE A BAD-AZZ COMMUNITY SITE......
YOU OUGHT TO START ONE WHERE WE ALL DO THIS....
SO WE CAN EXPLORE NEW POSSIBILITIES AND OPEN DOORS TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF THINKING.
IT WOULD ACTUALLY WORK IF INCLUDED WERE PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GREAT DEGREE OF ACCEPTANCE FOR OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS AND IDEAS AND AN UNDERSTANDING THAT DOES NOT OPPOSE EMBELLISHMENTS ON THEORIES OR CONCEPTS.
I'D SIGN IN.
SEE YA!

Would love too. But we would just end up being criminalised by the authorities if we ever went against their grain. Look at the likes of the illuminati etc.

Unfortunately, I think you summed it all up in the title-line of your question - with the exception of the few people who have already responded, no - they don't think.
