i think you're right to some extent but see there are some advantages also associated with it as some of us had never seen few of the legendary Old Movies and would never see them if there were no remakes.

An year ago i watched Colored Version of Mughal-e-azam (i know it was not a remake and was just a change from B/W to Eastman Color) but then too if they hadnt re-released it i wud have missed one of the best Hindi Movies made till date.

Similar case is with other Movies like Devadas, Don etc. i agree that the Original Movies were far much better but let the younger genre also have the glimpse of these Classic Oldies in the form of remakes....

so in the end i find no problem with remakes.... those who have not seen the Original Movies might enjoy the Remakes even if they have some minus points compared to the Original Ones!!!

Remaking a movie i.e.by keeping the original script & characters intact is a norm in Hollywood. I think its done here cos there are no creative writers, also note hit movies are remade. They did it with music, now they're doing it with films. But on the positive side, a film like Devdas can make the present generation aware of classic literature, Mughal-e-azam was restored in color so now we can see what a fantastic film it was.

You're right, The Poseidon Adventure was better. Flight of the Pheonix, the original, was far better. Not sure what "Bollywood" means though.

because i think that bollywood producers have tired making new movies.they lack new ideas. but i think that it is insult to the sensibilities of old world days film makers to make a remake
for example nobody can take place of amjad khan as gabbar singh.
