Simple - - - because Al Gore ran in 2000 and though he won the election The Republicans seized power for Geo W, a choice confirmed by The Supreme Court.

And yes Bill did stump for his Veep but quietly and only to small groups, VEEPS are expected to win their own elections. Reagan did not loudly endorse Geo H Bush in 1988 nor did Eisenhower for Dick Nixon in 1960, so tit for tat if you truly think you discovered something significant about Bill.

Peace...

Bill Clinton didn't campaign for Al Gore in 2002 because Al Gore didn't run in 2002 - he ran in 2000.

In the 2000 election, Al asked Bill not to campaign for him because of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. It's also a key factor why he chose Joe Lieberman as his running mate since Joe publicly came down hard on Clinton about the scandal. 20/20 hindsight for Gore is that it was a bad decision to try to distance himself from the still popular Bill Clinton.

If you are talking about Gore's 2000 presidential run there were a coupla factors. First in the wake of Monica-gate, they were afraid Clinton would not be the best spokesman. Second, Gore didn't have much personal identity and they were trying to make him an individual and differentiate him from Clinton. Lot of good it did.

Al Gore did not want assistance from Clinton at that point. But Gore still won the popular vote but lost by only 8 electoral votes. He would have won if he had Clinton help, most likely.

Possibly because Clinton likes the prospect of global warming because of the increasing temperatures women would be inclined to wear fewer and more revealing clothes, which is always a good thing as far as Mr. Bill goes.
