Took one shot of Depo in May. Started loestrin in August instead of another shot and in Sept had a period?
But I have not had one since. I have taken 3 tests and they are all negative. I have no signs of being pregnant but my fiance seems worried I could be pregnant. I think its just the Depo still in my system. Can it take awhile to get out of my system even when I have been taking a birth control pill. I did have one period in Sept. but that is it.

I took the Depo shot for a year before I decided to start trying to have a baby. And it was at least 4-5months after i took my last shot before I got another period. And when I knew I was going off the shot, I asked my Dr. about when she thought I would have my next period and she said it was normal for the shot to be in your blood stream for a while after taking your last one. So I just waited it out. Good Luck to you.

I've taken the depo shot once. Last May..I can still tell it's in my system. The doctor told me it can stay in your system for up to 18 months. So no worries. I started my period three months after getting the shots. I didn't like the side affects so I stopped taking it. My bff took it too and then started taking birth control pills. It took her a while to have a reg period. I still haven't had a regular steady period since May. So no worries. It just depends on the person. It takes longer for others. Like I said six months and still no reg period. So don't flip out it's just the bc. Hope I helped a little bit.

Alot of birth control can make you not have a period. I didn't get a period when I was on the pill. However I got 1 shot of depo after having my youngest child ( born 07/05) and I had a period for 6 months! Everyones body is different and reacts to medications differently. If you are concerned talk to your Dr.

Basically it takes your body some time for your body's hormones to restore its balance. And with a shot as strong as Depo, it may take several months, or it may take only a couple of months. All of our bodies are different, so don't fret. Your system will balance back out! -Janet
