The IUD in general doesn't affect the endometrial lining as that regenerate with every cycle. If you've had PID or a D&C for a therapeutic or missed abortion, you could have some scarring. Also having a previous cesarean section can affect your fertility.

Your first step is figuring out if you're ovulating...either by the ovulation predictor kit or tracking your basal boy temp/cervical mucus and cervical position (see the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler for more info). If you're not ovulating you need to go to your care provider to find out why not.

You might want to start charting your cycle and get in touch with some Natural Family Planning instructors. NFP is a system of watching cervical mucus, basal body temperature, and other things that are markers of fertility. When you learn the program, you will learn how to tell when you are most fertile. You can use that information to space your children or to increase your chance of having a baby. To increase your chance of having a baby, have intercourse during the time when you're most fertile. To space your children, abstain during that same period. Hope this helps! You can check out the Couple to Couple League, the Pope Paul VI Institute, or the Billings Ovulation Method. A quick Google search will turn up some helpful info. Good luck!

Hello -- I suggest that you go out get the ovulation kit.
Then you test your urine the first thing in the morning.
When it turns blue, then you can get pregnant and have a baby.
Believe it worked for me as I was having a hard time and my
time clock was running out. I have three kids to prove it.
So, good luck.

This is a common phenomenom. Many couples experience infertility after having a child. I would see a fertility specialist to determine any other factors.

I laid on my left side for an hour after having sex. That worked.
