It wouldn't really be stay the course. It would be more like we did it in Gulf War 1, bringing in a larger force of troops to get things under control quickly and then actually being able to get out quicker because we stablize things quickly. Shorter and much more force, larger force temporarily. Perhaps that is what they are thinking bringing more of GHB Sr.'s men on the team. If Rumsfeld had listened to the generals and brought in more troops from the get go like we expected them too things would be much better now.

Plain English:
When the Iraqi forces are trained and equipped well enough to defend themselves and the Iraqi people from the Islamic dirt bag terrorists and their demented ideology, we will leave the country infinitely better than under the Saddam regime.
This ideology of death to all who question their beliefs and their tactics of murdering and maiming thousands of innocent men, women and children - not to mention their terror attacks and acts of war against the United States since 1979 - has to be defeated - permanently and decisively.
They will honor their threats of more attacks and they will continue their terror tactics if we leave - and why not? - if they feel they've been successful.
They have already, for all intents and purpose, defeated Spain - and France isn't far behind. Their goal is world domination under Islamic law - and they are resolved in this objective, by any means possible.

Bush has the same plan he has had since the war started. And during the election campaigns Bush had the audacity to say that he had a winning strategy. What a liar! I can't stand that man.
