First of all are you really ready for a change? And is money the only factor you look for in an employment opportunity.
Also, think about this: Would you truly be satisfied if you made more money?
You should really think long and hard about what you want to accomplish on a new job before you leave your present one.
When you figure out the answers to these questions you are ready to make a change......

Money is great, but time is even more precious. Why spend 1/3 to 1/2 of your life in something you hate?
First, build up a nest egg and cut your spending down to the bone. You should have enough money to live on for at least six months -- a year's worth of feathering would be even better.
Then, research what you want to do. Can you take night classes? Can you live on what you are going to make at the dream job? Can you have a dream job and a part-time job to make ends meet? If you hate everything, can you make enough money to invest, and live off the interest?
Figure out why your job is such a dead end, and see if you can move horizontally. Is it the people? Is it lack of advancement? Is it no learning?
Good luck. You deserve to be doing what you love! Find a way to do it!

Well it is simple. Once you are making good and decent money your life style changes, you get used to having things, you get comfortable in your way of life. The only thing I would suggest you do, is spend some of that "good" money and go and get tested at an Aptitude Institution. We have reputable ones here in Canada. You can find them through your local University. Once tested, you will know where your abilities, capabilities, and your career choices for change will become much easier. Check everything out first, as they say "the grass always looks greener on the other side"... Good Luck... and I suggest you start by doing something you like to do very much, sing, play an instrument, paint, join the local Playhouse, volunteer, get involved with your community and you never know who you will meet, or what door of opportunity will open.

First decide that money is not your priority. Then start looking for a job that will utilize your skills and bring you in contact with people you enjoy.
There are other consideration too before changing jobs and access to a listing a million jobs on the site below.
You can also volunteer somewhere you think you might enjoy. If the job fits you may find that a paying position is available.

is that the job you want in your entire life? Coz without enjoying what you do (work or sports) you have get to a point of excellence ... or should i say happiness.
though money can be a factor, if youre a bachelor, its not a problem. but if your married and have other responsibilities then i suggest try convincing yourself to love what you do. try picture out that what you do is significant enough to make your company grow. it works sometimes. but i really advise that you transfer another job which you really love

If you make great money and cant make that type of money anywhere else and enjoy the benefits your hated job provides you, you either quit and modify your lifestyle to your earnings or practive motivational therapy to have the right attitude, approach and expectations, this will make your hated job much more enjoyable. good luck.

Maybe take some on line courses if you don't' have the time to go to college. Better yourself where when you finish you have the skills to get a good paying job.

You save up some of that 'very good money' until you can support yourself for a year and then start looking for something that you would do whether you got paid or not.
