Legalize maurijauna. that would launch a large chew of prisoners, help close funds gaps, and merely sell a extra unfastened society. Weed has some distance fewer damaging impacts on human beings than alcohol and tobacco. (i've got on no account tried it, by making use of ways....yet i don't drink the two) **I merely regarded into it extra, and it feels like marijauna clientele account for below 2% of prisoners, so i assume that on my own won't resolve the difficulty. Crime is likewise usually proportionate to the disparity of earnings between the top and decrease instructions in society. So extra wealth equality (which does not recommend take and supply...merely giving equivalent opportunities to every physique and making specific the gadget rewards for not undemanding paintings good) will help alleviate crime oftentimes.

Prisons are over crowded due to the war on drugs. As with everything else the gov has tried to control there are those that take the ball and run. Using a law for something other than it was intended. The prisons are over flowing with men and women for minor drug use "non violent crimes" The length of their sentences are ridiculous. The war on drugs was invented to take the eyes of Americans off the screw ups of the gov. and when the bill was passed there were other laws incorporated into that bill but wasn't made public, but allotted more funds and power to those in charge.

Go check out how many people are in prison for "grass"! The majority that are in for "grass" are big time dealers. Not guys or gals buying 1/4 bags, but guys or gals buying 100's of lbs. These are the same guys that have gun fights in our streets. Hell lets just legalize meth.

Legalize everything. Even murder.

No. Maybe that isn't such a good idea.

How about making more prison space. Simpler buildings with less expensive perks for prisoners.

Decriminalizing marijuana and other drugs. Use the money spent on prosecution to fund education and rehabilitation programs.

Decrease reliance on welfare through work programs to wean people off of welfare.

Remove the under 21 population from the prison system to focus on reform and "boot camps"

The list goes on and on but it is easier to agree to stick people in jail rather than WORK to create a solution.
