I have one large .gif image that is:
999 pixels in width
120 pixels in height
--) I want to chop up the image into nine (333x40) pieces.
--) I have a late version of photoshop (v.7)
--) I have two toolbuttons (1) Slice Tool (2) Slice Select Tool
--)I am trying to incorporate as much .css stylling as possible. I have the following so far{{{{{{{most important}}}}}}

and that repeats for each of the 3 in each row, so it forms one large image.

(1) Is this an efficient way, or is their another way that i should go about doing this?
(2) In photoshop, whats the best way to go about slicing up the image.

Thanks so much

Sure, you can set up the table this way, but I fail to understand why if it is just a single image. 999x120 is not THAT big. Why not just send as individual image? Your style sheet is not going to help you on this.

Careful with using the term slice, this is for making menued GIF's.

To directly answer your question, just properly crop the individual chunks, give a unique name, and place in the cells. NBD.

If I have it wrong, please provide more details. I'll monitor this question for a day or two.

Do it in Image ready!!!!!!!!!! It will write all the code for you - make your table, align it, etc. Use the splice tool (i think, might be slice) and chop it up however you want. Next, export it as html and images. I'm pretty sure export is under file.. :) Goodluck!

it'd probably be easier to crop and paste the pieces you want from the original to a new pic.

But if you want to do it via css then you got it pretty much figured out already.
You may need to add a break between each line to get it to render in 9 seperate pieces
