One reason he and other military leaders tried to tell Bush strategy on Iraq change the way it was being handled and Bush did not care what they said he already had his agenda from Rumsfeld and Rove. So I think Colin Powell decided this was going to be the way the war would be handled and knew this would not be the way to do it so he resigned sooner then being a part of it. Of course he used personal reasons but I think most people agree with me.That was why he resigned/

He was tired. It takes a lot of energy to deny rights to the victims of golf war syndrome. Only to realize much later it really did exist.
