The United States National Weather Service (NWS) website at http://www.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=gld has historical weather data and climate information for major weather stations in the United States.

there are commercial historical weather information providers that can help, for a fee. Just google "weather history" and you'll find several. Usually, they provide data on actual weather as opposed to the forecast for a particular date, but many--if not most--can provide you with the forecast also.
