You can become aware of it when you realize that your breathing continues without conscious effort on your part.. you can over-ride it by slowing or stopping the breathing but when you discontinue the practice, it will resume normal breathing pattern without you being aware of it, or helping it.

The notion of a subconscious in some branches of psychotherapy is considered to be the deepest level of consciousness, that individuals are not directly aware of, but still affects conscious behavior. This notion is similar to, but not precisely the same as, the notion of the unconscious in psychoanalytic theory.

At the present stage, there are still fundamental disagreements within psychology about the nature of the subconscious mind (if indeed it is considered to exist at all), whereas outside formal psychology a whole world of pop-psychological speculation has grown up in which the unconscious mind is held to have any number of properties and abilities, from animalistic and innocent, child-like aspects to savant-like, all-perceiving, mystical and occult properties.

Material is constantly moving from the conscious mind to the unconscious and vice versa. The conscious mind only holds a small amount of information at any given time. In many cases information - especially easily accessible memories - can be called into awareness at will.

Some psychics also believe that the subconscious mind possesses a kind of "hidden energy" or "potential" that can realize dreams and thoughts, with minimal conscious effort or action from the individual. Some also believe that the subconscious has an "influencing power" in shaping one's destiny. All such claims, however have so far failed to stand up to scientific scrutiny.

Become conscious of the presence of subconscious.

Knowing the presence of subconscious is consciousness; subconscious stays the same whether you are conscious of it or not.

just because you are aware of it does not make it consciousness.. Subconscious is when your mind works like when your sleeping and you cannot actively change what is happening when you are conscious you can change what is happening to make things more as you want them or feel they should be .

Because you breath. Even when you're sleeping. Knowing what the subconscious does doesn't make it's actions the product of conscious thought.

You cannot do anything in subconscious state. You can see things happening automatically based on the input you have given or developed already. Mind is acting automatically based on the data present and exercising it through unexplained mode.

subconscience shapes our personalities and stuff.... some people get really aggressive for some reason, because something happened in the past...its how we explain the complexities of human personalities.

Now you know the answer to that question. I know you do. As you answered it in your last statement. An example - Tom constantly had subconscious thoughts of suicide. One day he killed himself. Get it! I know you do.
