The President is Gerald R. Ford, and his legacy, in my opinion, is the beginnings of a return to credibility for the American system after the failings of Watergate and the strife of the 1960s.

Mr. Ford suffered for his having supported President Nixon and for pardoning him after becoming president. He lost his bid for re-election to Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Gerald Ford is the only president who was never elected to the offices of President or Vice President. He was appointed to replace resigned Vice President Spiro Agnew and succeeded President Nixon upon his resignation.

Ronald Reagan was the oldest US President ever... his legacy is just too far reaching to describe here. Try doing a web search for "Reaganomics" and "Reagan Administration".
