Actually yes, I do care about the question asked because I like to help people like that. I really do care about trying to help and I like to make people feel special even the least bit if I can...everyone needs that once in a while.

Not really. At the end of a day of Yahoo Answers, i feel proud that i have probably helped someone today. I care about the question. I don't like people who just say "2 Pts!" Example:
The question is: How do you install the Sims 2 Game?
The answer is: 2 Points!

I don't like people who do that, unless the question is absolutley ridicouls, so dumb questions deserve dumber answers. The questioner should have a reason for asking such question, for either good laughs, homework help, or for information, research, and educational usage. But well thoughtout questions, such as yours, have a specific topic on what they're asking, and deserve specific answers, or at least decent answers. That's how i feel.

Although, I DO NOT give serious answers to dumb, rude, or flat out disgusting questions that should recive just one more report for abuse. All in all, i give serious answers to serious questions.

I always care about the question asked rather than the two points. Some of the questions are quite thought-provoking. Some questions come from people who are desperate and need some useful advice. Some of the questions are things I used to know and have forgotten, so I look those up to refresh myself.

Incidentally, the system gives me two points for an answer.

Actually some times i do care about the question it is interesting to know what things are going on in other peoples lives and minds, i like the really serious questions or the funny ones, i hate the "a boy likes me what should i do" crap, etc... i've seen that on here more times then i can count, soooo damn annoying!! Sometimes its for the points, but not mostly!!

Sure I care about the question and the questioner. Many times the questioner is sincerely seeking an answer. Sometimes the answer is in the question.
The question ( and the many answers ) is worth much more than 2 points. Imagine how gullible we have become when we take answers without questions!

No, I really enjoy answering questions. I just get a little exasperated over the bf/gf desperation questions....so I don't answer many of them. I also enjoy some of the hilarious answers I see here and there...they are better than some of the jokes and riddles.
Some of the avatars are just great too. There is great tragedy and comedy here on Yahoo Q/A.

YES I DO.

For one thing, I won't answer a silly or stupid question, especially if it violates the Y!A Guidelines - I'll just report it and get it deleted and then move on to the next question, which hopefully is from someone who is honestly seeking an answer, and then answer their question to the best of my ability.

I won't give a silly answer unless it's a silly question - but if it's serious then so am I. I don't do stupid questions, they're a waste of my time and everyone else's. People with multiple accounts, foul language, spam questions, adult content, and all the other topics banned by the Y!A Guidelines - beware me, I am the one you should fear - I am the Y!A Censor Police........

I don't even care about the 2 points. I mainly care about handing someone a laugh. A lot in this life sucks so if I can make someone laugh, WHY NOT? Some of my answers are a scream if I do say so myself.

I do, actually, at least sometimes. If it is a serious question which deserves a well-thought out or well-researched answer, yes.

But I admit I do answer some screwy questions with an equally screwy answer just to get the points.
