Every time I go to a swingdance, the guys will just stare at us for the longest time, stare and stare and stare, even smile, but they take forever to ask one of us girls to dance. Me and all my friends get really bored waiting for a guy to ask us to dance, and non of us would be rude enough to say no, even to a guy we dislike. Why do teenage guys take forever to just ask one of us girls to dance? Are we really that scary?

It's one of those old fassioned kinda dances where the guys are supposed to ask the girls unless the girls get extremly bored.

Haha, you are to THEM!
What you need to do is send a girl over to break the ice. Someone who is friends with lots of them. And tell them "Sean, Jordan and Alec ... if you just go over, I know that Amy, Dana, Hilary, Julie...would dance with you." If they know that girls will say yes, they'll be braver. Plus, if they go over as a group, it will help give them courage.
Good luck. Hahah, nice to know some things never change!

Are you really that scary? YES!
LOL
I mean, not in a bad way. But to a teenage guy, a girl on her own is intimidating, let alone one surrounded by her friends!
Try putting yourself in his shoes. I'd say, start a movement by going over and asking a guy if he would like to dance. Then things will get hoppin'!

Don't be too direct about dancing. Just go over and yak for a while, find out what they think about dancing, if they like dancing or what cars they drive, OK maybe they don't have a car. These days, girls can do the asking.

no your not scary and the way the guys look at you you girls are probably pretty hott. thats the problem. guy (us) are like sheep were stupid. we get real intimidated by a hott girl and then we get shy and then thats about it so if you tired of all that... uuuuuhhh go ask them to dance. cause trust me they wont say no, but they wont say yes, if you dont make a move.

They don't have the confidence. Generally, in your age, girls are the ones that aren't shy and have more confidence, but as you almost hit adulthood and up until 20, gurls are the ones with less confidence and the guys have the most.

Yep It takes guys a few years to come around. Don't be afraid to ask one to get you a cup of punch or a soda or something. That can help break the ice a bit.

Again, people just don't get it. The answer is NOT to help "break the ice" or ask them to dance. If they're that cowardly or such wimps, FORGET THEM!
