if you're a good dancer with a nice muscular body - yes you can make good money, possibly $300 per night.

it's high risk just like a female stripper except that there's a higher demand for female strippers than male strippers. unless you live in las vegas, the only way you'll make some decent money is if you get hired for a male revue by traveling or if you know a local entertainment agency that is looking to recruit some male strippers. Unfortunately, women aren't that crazy about male strippers, and are cheap tippers. I know I went to one, and I wasn't really wowed by the show so I barely tipped. It's harder for men to put on a show because you really can't show too much. girl strippers it's a different story because there's more to be teased about and it's more serious and sexual.. with male strippers it's more of a light entertainment with a lil' bit of spice or something. either at a show. or for a bachelorette party. so if you do decide to get in the business, make sure you really have a dance routine, know how to gyrate, and you got a nice body.. because if you don't have the total package, you're gonna waste your time.

I was disgusted to learn that female strippers who dance at clubs have to pay a certain amount per night to work there. They're considered "independent contractors", and I believe there is even the chance they may be expected to share tips. They have no health insurance and no way to buy into any through their work.
There are supposed to be certain behaviors that club-goers aren't supposed to engage in, but it was said that there isn't necessarily any guarantee that such behavior won't take place.
The club is what makes the money as far as I could tell from this particular piece on (I think) Prime Time with Diane Sawyer. I know the strippers get some kind of money from it, but to me its the principle of the thing - they're what bring in the customers, but they're also paying for the "privilege" of doing the kind of work they do. In other types of work a person gets paid by the company. It isn't the other way around.
You should look into all this type of stuff before signing on.

if there's money in it, do it. female strippers make a ton of money; there's a couple of my friends that are strippers.
