I think i almost got it last night. I felt kind of like I was being warped into a black hole or something, but then I woke up.

I've tried to achieve astral projection and OBE in the past, but then I focused my attention on Lucid Dreaming, and it is much more rewarding. I don't know from personal experience if OBE is possible or not, but I can tell you without a doubt that lucid dreaming IS. My current opinion is that OBE is just a misunderstood form of Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming (WILD). Also, if you become lucid (become aware of your state) inside a dream, you can try to initiate an OBE from within the dream. Check out these links for information on lucid dreaming. Trust me, it's a much more worthwhile practice.

PS- the best book I've seen on OBE is Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. It also has a chapter on Lucid Dreaming.

**********EDIT**************

Another advantage of lucid dreaming, one that I forgot to mention earlier, is that it is a scientifically proven phenomenon. There's nothing new-age or "iffy" about it. Everybody dreams, that's not amazing; in lucid dreaming you become aware that you are dreaming while in the dream state, and you have conscious awareness and control of your dream environment. This is cool because there is no doubt involved (unlike OBE) and you don't have to worry about stuff like "what if it isn't possible?"
And like I mentioned earlier, if you still are interested in OBE then you can attempt it from the already non-physical platform of a lucid dream. Good luck!!

It doesn't really work.
Actually there are 2 kinds of brainwaves. Alpha and Beta. As you relax your heart, breathing and more importantly, your brainwaves fall into "Alpha"
Alpha Waves

Description

"Alpha Brainwaves add images and visuals; you could view this as escape from reality. Too much alpha activity leads to excessive escapes and too many daydreams. Too little makes us human machines:– in motion, but without dreams that direct. ‘Just right,’ adds perfect porridge bowls balanced for healthier lives."
It's just visualization. Almost like dreaming. Do not decieve your self into thinking that you are actually leaving your body to go other places. Been there, done that. I tried so hard to convince myself that something miraculous and fabulous had happened, but it just wasn't the case.
There are Many scientific facts about the feelings and sensations that you will have when doing things like such. To me these have become the most facinating things. Truth. Truth is more bizarre than fiction and it is cool too.

There is no life outside of your body. That is a deception. The Bible is very clear on this and you will see that, if you study this idea clearly. Go to amazingfacts.org and take the study on what happens when you die and you will learn what the Bible says about this issue. A soul is defined as existing only when a living body is alive. There is no soul after death. Humans are mortal. They are not immortal. They die and cease to exist until God resurrects them at the end of this earth's sinful history. At that time, if they had died covered by Christ righteousness God will give them an immortal body. If they died without Christ's righteousness they will be raised in their recreated old body and will die the final or second death in hell fire. They will be returned to dust for ever. Never to exist in any form again for all eternity. Hell fire does not start burning until after that second resurrection that occurs 1000 years after the second advent of Christ. Hell fire burns up all those who died without accepting Christ's sacrifice for their sins, and then Hell fire goes out. This is followed by God burning up the old earth and creating a new one. Hell fire will never exist again for all eternity.

That sounds more like a ghost attack to me. Obe's are dangerous. We do it all the time when we sleep but it is rare to remember. Best to not do it on purpose because one can not come back to their body (die in your sleep) For universal truths go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com

if you are trying to do it without having someone to give instruction on it and many other areas for psychic phenominom, you better quit. it will cause great harm, and could be very dangerous if you haven't learned how and under what conditions you can do it. don't attempt it without some gfuidance and assistance.

I would tell you to read Elisabeth Kubler-Ross's memior, and her book on Life after Death. She recounts her experiences and has them herself. She says once you go into the light, you do not want to come back. Enjoy it.

I think this really works. There are many testimonials and I reached very close to achieving it but I think I was not able to do it completely because of some personal reason.
