good question. i just started this book and it isn't quite clear to me yet, but it's certainly an intense read. i would recommend it if you're willing to fry your brain a bit.

It is very stream of consciousness and deals with the end of the second world war and the V series Rockets. Slothrop the main character amongst a cast of thousands goes through a number of bizarre adventures. It took me a while to get into it but I am now on the last hundred pages or so. If you like reading, and don't mind the surreal and bizarre you will probably enjoy it. It is certainly a challenging book!

Definitely worth the read. It's hilarious. Slothrop, the main character, gets an erection every time a bomb is dropped near him... or someting like that. It's been a while since I read it, and I hope to make time for it again some day.

It's about rocket science in the last days of WWII in Europe.

I think it's a brilliant book, but not to everyone's taste -- and it certainly requires a lot of brain power. It has strong supporters (including me) but most people find it unreadable.
