I assume you are windows XP. No, you cant look it up. Yes, you can hack into it by using a utility that will blank out your existing password. Get the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Link below.

CAREFUL - You can REALLY hose your pc with this. Make sure you read and understand everything!!!

There are programs that can store your passwords for you, they do encrypt them so unless you know what the main password is you wouldn't be able to pull it up.
If you "saved" the password using the auto form fill feature in IE then you can't really find it, if you used Firefox to save the password you can.
If its a password for a file on your pc you'll have to reset the password for the account its under in order to get it back, if its a login password for windows you can get around it by deleting it and re-entering a new password through the default Admin account in safe mode.

If you have to ask this question then you shouldn't bother trying. I'm not saying that you wouldn't suceed but there may be more to it then meets the eye. Somethings such as file encryption may use your password as part of thier cyfer. Changing the password doesn't incorrectly will not regenerate the key.

There are allot of security related resources for any system you can think of. Decide if this one of the things you want to spend your time learning or if you are willing to just leave it to the pro's.
